The forum took as its heading “Empowering Arab Educational Practitioners to Lead School-Based Reform”. The Forum’s objectives were to inform participants about the concepts of school-based reform and how they were applied in TAMAM project, as well as to exchange ideas about school-based reform in general, and TAMAM project in particular. Furthermore, the Forum sought to inspire participants to continue their efforts for reform and encourage others to do so. Lastly, the Forum aimed at continuing a dialogue on educational development issues in the Arab region by all stakeholders.
Forum participants were educational practitioners in the public and private sectors, decision-makers, as well as researchers, university professors and thinkers who were interested in and who support school-based reforms. Also attending were representatives of Ministries of Education and relevant international and regional organizations in order to jointly discover how to achieve school-based reform in their respective regions. The Forum included a plenary session, concurrent sessions, discussion groups and two “World Café” style sessions. Posters for various educational initiatives were also included.
